REDRAFT: Title: Ernie’s Incredible Illuminations 2 “As a director"

Word Count: 300 (minimum)

In the start or the scene when Ernie and his Auntie May are watching a wrestling match, I think they should be positioned at stage right, slightly turned towards the audience that is to make sure they are seen by the audience and not just the first person closest to the audience.

The wrestler should have his arms held above his head to show he won the last match.

When it is time for Auntie May to enter the wring she should be very clumsy about getting in, to make her seem more vulnerable.

Whilst this is happening the wrestler should be scoffing at her to the audience, whilst pointing at her.

When Auntie May is preparing to fight she should be hopping from foot to foot.
The referee should be between the two, looking as if he is trying to stop the fight.

After this, all but Ernie should make a freeze frame of the man cheering Auntie May on, of the referee trying to stop the two, the wrestler backing off and Auntie may holding her hands up in a fist.

Ernie should walk into the middle of the stage then stand in front of everyone else, making his wish/illusion.

Describe how hot-seat can help develop a performance

To achieve this give specific examples of the questions you would ask a character and what sort of responses an actor might give. Say what they will find out about their character and how they feel in the scene you are directing.

Hot seating can also help with giving information on characters because the play or movie might not give the information you need for the audience who needs some description or context in their motives, personality, or what they are thinking when doing the play.

For example of what Auntie may might say to a question like, why did you fight that wrestler? She can answer with, “I felt a strong urge to whack that boy round the ‘ead, dunno what it was.”

Macbeth 3

Scene one

The dark forest loomed above the three children.

Child one comes in carrying sticks, child two comes in carrying leaves, and child three comes in carrying matches and a doll.

They set the sticks and leaves on fire.

Then they all whisper into the doll, the audience unable to hear their whispers.

Child 2 places the doll on the fire.

Child 1: we shall meet again, shall we not?

Child 3: Apon the night, when the moon is full.

Child 2 nods, they all walk off stage.

Scene two:

Two men come in, dressed in rags, beer bottles in their hands. The moon is full.

Terrence: This is a dark one, aint it Chide?

Chide: I’ll drink to that, Terry

They both take a swig of
Chide, spits out his beer into a bush when he sees three children appear, seemingly from nowhere.

Chide: Terrence, watch out! There is youngn’s here!

Child three: Hello.

Child one: we are here to bring you a message

Child three: Terrence, you shall be respected upon all men in the kingdom.

Child one: Chide, you will have a son, who will take Terrence’s place.

Child two: beware, for this news will break even the toughest of men.

Terrence and Chide laugh and walk off.

Macbeth 1 (Reflect and Evaluate)

During the first moments of the play we see three people chanting, the atmosphere of this scene is meant to make the audience feel creeped out or very anticipated for what is about to happen next.

This scene should tell the audience think the play will be a horror play, or something scary.
To add the effect of the scene being very creepy, we made the witches talk very slowly and in a slightly deeper tone, giving a creepier aspect to the characters.

When we changed the witches into body props we made them turn their heads to the ground to add to the creepiness.

When Hamlet and the other man were walking through the graves we made them cover their faces apart from when they were talking also, to show it was a dark and stormy evening.

Assessment for Perform (Spring 2)

When they were doing this play, I found that Ellis could have faced the audience more while climbing, this corresponds to KPI2 to Project voice audibly, facing away from the audience does not help this. Also, while Libby was waiting for her que to stand up she looked around, and was out of character when doing this. Another thing the group has to improve on is to change their voice when they were in roll, Freddy did not do that when shouting up the mountain, but when talking to Major Frazor he changed his pitch to sound scared or worried. however, Lily seemed to not change her pitch at all. All in all, i think they all completed KPI 1.

Ernies Incredibile Illucenitions Task 2 redraft

In the start or the scene when Ernie and his Auntie May are watching a wrestling match, I think they should be positioned at stage right, slightly turned towards the audience that is to make sure they are seen by the audience and not just the first person closest to the audience.

The wrestler should have his arms held above his head to show he won the last match. He should have an almost boastful look of his face while giving gestures to suggest he is challenging the audience, which would make the audience think he is a very competitive character

When it is time for Auntie May to enter the wring she should be very clumsy about getting in, to make her seem more vulnerable.

Whilst this is happening the wrestler should be scoffing at her to the audience, whilst pointing at her.

When Auntie May is preparing to fight she should be hopping from foot to foot, to show she is up for a challenge.

The referee should be between the two, looking as if he is trying to stop the fight. He should look worried.
